In reference to the direct foreign investment, basque companies are exceptionally dynamic; in the 1st half of 2004, the Basque Country was the first community within Spain with regard to foreign investment. 57.27% of total state foreign investment is basque investment.
The Basque Country is also an attractive region for foreign investment due to Its industrial tradition and its capability to unite its strategic location, communication network, highly specialized business structure for outsourcing and energy and technological infrastructures. Foreign investment in the Basque Country grew 135% in the 1st half of 2004 compared to the same period in 2003.
